Beachy Queen!

See this little girl? She is a princess in her own right and requested that her 5th birthday take place at the beach. So we, the Royal family, obliged.

Jared is out of town so Mary was my buddy for the hour long drive to Galveston.

Lots of unloading and carrying. Hey, is Harris empty-handed? Why yes, yes he is.

Straight for the waves!! The three amigos, from darkest to lightest, Matthew, Ethan, and Ike. (Girl on the left, not an amigo)

Faith, Madison and grandma. Faith's swimmsuit comes down like a skirt. Madison must have wanted the same effect.

Some liked the sand.

Some liked the water.

Some liked the shade. Dad's legs look like they really like the shade!

And that's my fake smile, masking the irritation, because guess who hated the "salty pool with too many waves!" and cried a good portion of the time?

This guy!

Oh well, it's all worth it for you! Happy Birthday Clairey!!!!

I hope princess Claire had a great time in Galveston. I will enjoy the beach vicariously through you while I am here in land-locked Abilene. When we used to take Lorin to the beach when she was younger she would just stand on the towel and cry!! Now she is a little fish.

How's Galveston looking post hurricane? I want to got there so bad.

Happy Birthday to Claire! I love how she just lets the good times roll.

Good thing you didn't encounter any pink padded toilet seats. I think that would have been the crappy icing on the crappy cake for you. I can just hear you sayin', "We're done here, people. We're done. Load 'em up and move 'em out."

What a fun birthday for Claire! It looks like you all had a great time.

And you are going to have to watch the boys in middle school - that Faith is way too pretty!

Great Birthday for a Princess! Looks like at least most of you had fun. I know all about being irritated by a crying child at the beach, but the second time we went Hannah totally loved it, so maybe Harris will warm up to it. :)

Hey! So in answer to your comment that you left long ago .. Noah is Seth's nephew! After reading your comment I went back through the post and had a long laugh because of all the pics with Noah! But no .. we are still childless. And we will see how much longer that lasts! Looks like you enjoyed the beach! I bet it's wonderful having it so close to home!
