This morning while getting ready, Harris looked over at Ethan who was combing his hair and said,

"Ethan, it's not Bad Hair Day."

I hate you Hawaiian Roll!

Okay, I am not presently depressed. That feels good to say. I did, however, buy some Hawaiian rolls at Wal-mart the other day and had a bad feeling gnawing at my gut as I put that bright orange package into my cart. Why? Where was this feeling coming from? As all good mentally-ill people do, I stopped and took stock. Why was I having an aversion to these rolls? And then I remembered. The last time I bought those rolls was the last time I was depressed. My kids tend to treat these rolls like little cakes that they cannot keep their hands off of and consequently sneak them from the fridge every few minutes until they're all gone...within an hour....seriously. And so, last time I bought them, and they did this, one of my children (that one named "not me") dropped one on the floor, and left it there. Well, myself, being in the deepest of depressions, could not bend over and pick it up. (If this baffles you, you do not have depression, no need to get tested.) I also was not able to do the work of finding out which of my kids did it so they could pick it up. (Remember it was that "not me" guy) So, that freakin' Hawaiian roll sat in that spot on my floor for days and days and days. And every time I would open my fridge I would look at it. And I would feel irritated. And I would know that I was still depressed because there was no way I was pickin' it up. (Let's not even get started on the wreckage that surrounded the roll!) Finally, after my pesky chemicals began to balance out, I bent over and stuck that stupid thing in the trash! Take from that story what you wish.

p.s-Doesn't that crease in the roll kinda look like a stethoscope? Hmmm....a sign perhaps that a doctor is needed if you have a roll on your floor for two weeks?
