YOU'RE FIRED!

I feel peeved. I feel irritated because insurance companies are crooks and thieves. They make sure you pose little to no risk for them at which time they will gladly take your money but not before they make you feel like you are lucky they are even allowing you this honor ("It looks like you may be accepted but we're still not sure. We'll get back to you. Then they keep you cliff hangin' for a week or two til' you forget that THEY are working for YOU and should be glad to have YOUR business.) Then they take your HUNDREDS of dollars a month with only one stipulation. Should you ever need them to cover anything they have special people working there whose sole purpose is to find and create reasons your needed service was not actually "needed". AHHH! I have begun paying almost $400 dollars a month for just me, Jared, Faith and Ethan to get coverage. Of course Harris will never be covered by insurance in his life b/c he had the nerve to be born with a hole in his spine and I had the nerve to not abort! Well, they made sure we were aware that we were not eligible for ANY mental health coverage. None. Why? Because we need it, and that would mean they would have to pay for something with OUR money that we give them EVERY month! I will continue to pay out $100 every time I see my shrink for 15 minutes and $160 every time I take Faith to her pediatric shrink. We use ALL generic meds even though most of them don't work as good and our bill will still total $225 a month on that one. Because OF COURSE they will not cover any of that. They'll just keep getting richer and richer off my $400 a month and never use a shred of it to help me. And get this--my diagnosis was mild anxiety. That's it! Faith has no official diagnosis because they don't typically diagnose kids with anything official when they are so young. So it's not like we went in there and said, "We're nuts!" Oh, I guess I forgot, you can only be insured for the parts of you that are perfectly healthy and they get your money by playing on your fears that one of those healthy parts will get cancer and then, well, you just coudn't survive without said insurance company. Never mind that I don't drink or smoke. Never mind that I work out just about EVERY DAY! Who cares about that! This girl has mild anxiety! She is much more likely to--I dunno, get expensive illnesses! WELL ENOUGH! I ain't doin' it. I am fighting back. I called my insurance guy and he is supposed to be calling me back. His wife answered and I asked if her husband could call me back and she was very pushy about wanting to help me herself b/c they work together> and I was insistant that I wanted to talk to her husband who personally sold us our "no mental illness allowed" policy. So finally, she was so intent on helping me herself that I layed it on her and she promptly said, "I'll have Dean call you back!" Yeah you will! I'm sure I've already been deemed the "crazy lady" around there but who cares? They can't fire me because I am THEIR employer! I give them $400 a month and so far they have payed a total of $0 for me! So there you have it. THEY are fired! I will see what he has to say. Maybe I am crazy. I dunno.

Tagged-- Six Things you may not know about me.

1. I had a tatoo on my shoulder removed. (Painful!!!!)

2. I ran a marathon. The first person I saw when I crossed the finish line was George Bush Sr. and he said, "Atta girl!" I wanted to ask for his son's ph# but I was 99.9% parched.

3. I used to love writing when I was younger and would write little novels and keep them in notebooks in my bedside table. I got older and read through them and got embarassed and threw them all away. Sad.

4. When I was in middle school I pushed my two front teeth together until I closed my own gap. (My mom said we couldn't afford braces).

5. I sucked my thumb til' I was ten and my great grandma offered to pay me $100 to stop. I promptly did.

6. I am REALLY good at remembering names. I can be told your grandma's neighbor's niece's boyfriends name one time and ten years later I'll be able to recall it. Too bad I can't seem to remember useful information.

Tags are fully optional, of course, but I'd like to hear from any and all of you kind enough to read my blog. I really love nothing more than learning new things about people so, humor me!

YUCK!

I once ate a rotten raisin. It was the craziest kind of disgusting I have ever experienced. I have eaten frozen grease that I thought was ice cream, a cup of egg yolks that I mistook for orange juice and a glass of juice that was half full of dishwashing liquid. So it's safe to say I'm no stranger to the nasty. But nothing and I mean NOTHING compares to a rotten raisin. It was so bad I was wiping my toungue on my shirt and trying not to cry. I was eating these raisins while driving my kids to school and I had no drink with me. I actually swerved, narrowly missing an oncoming car. Sarah says she believes it was a bug rather than a raisin and she may be right. Whatever I ate didn't even have the consistency of a raisin! It was grainy and gritty. This is what makes me believe I could be on Fear Factor. I feel nothing they could make me eat could be as foul as a rotten raisin!

What's the worst thing you have ever eaten/drank?
